The Gunn House Motel – Haunted – Sonora, CA

We investigated the Gunn House Hotel in Sonora, one of the oldest surviving buildings from the California Gold Rush era. Built in the 1850s, this structure has lived many lives. A private home, a print shop, a county office, a hospital, and eventually a hotel. With that much history packed into one place, it’s no surprise the Gunn House has developed a reputation for being one of the most haunted locations in the Mother Lode. Guests and staff have reported footsteps in empty hallways, voices with no source, objects moving on their own, and apparitions appearing late at night. Some believe the activity may be tied to its time as a hospital, when sickness, injury, and death were part of daily life within these walls. In this investigation, we explore the rooms and corridors after dark, running our equipment and documenting anything that responds. No assumptions. No forced conclusions. Just the location, the history, and whatever still remains. Is the Gunn House simply old and creaky… Or is something from its past still walking the halls? Watch the investigation and decide for yourself.
